The Psi Chapter is Back!

After years of not being active, this weekend marked the reactivation of the Psi Chapter!!!  Saturday was an amazing day for all of us who now officially Brothers of Delta Sigma Pi.  We started back in November 2008 with nothing.  In just over year we were able to completely reactivate this historic chapter at UW-Madison.  We couldn’t have done it without the enormous help from Central Office, our amazing PVP, RVP, and DD, and of course all the members who have made the chapter what it is today.

Thank you to everyone who came to the installation ceremonies this weekend.  We were honored to see so many Brothers from around the country come out to support what we have accomplished.  March 13, 2010 is the beginning of a great future for the Psi Chapter!

Installation Less Than A Week Away!

It has been a long time coming, but we are now just days away from the Reactivation of the Psi Chapter!  I think I speak for everyone when I say that we are all very excited that this day is finally here.  Every member of the colony has worked extremely hard to get to this point.  The past four weeks have been pledging mania.  Each week, we have been learning more and more about the Fraternity.  On Saturday, we will become official brothers of Delta Sigma Pi.

UW-Madison was missing something at the School of Business, and we are so close to filling in that missing something.  If you go to Grainger Hall, you will see our banner hanging down in the atrium.  Saturday is the big day.  If you have any questions about the festivities contact me at scott@uwdsp.com or our President at cody@uwdsp.com.

Psi Chapter here we come!

December Update and A Donate Button?

Hello world!  We have a few updates to give you an idea as to what is going on with the colony in the past month.

  1. Joe Mayne spoke on November 5, and it was a great event!  We had a great showing from both colony and non-colony members, which has given us even greater exposure here at the Wisconsin School of Business.  A big thanks to Mr. Mayne for travelling down to Madison to speak to us about branding ourselves in this tough economy.
  2. LEAD was a blast!  I do not want to bore people with specific information (that may come in a future blog post) but just know that the colony members who went had an amazing time.  For those of you who do not know our members, you will come February when we bring many down to Lombard, IL for the LEAD Conference.
  3. The colony had a Thanksgiving Potluck a few weeks back.  We learned that these members can truly cook!  Each team brought something to the proverbial table, and these items included pasta, puppy chow, green bean casserole (hot dish for those from Minnesota), and beef stew.  I know I am forgetting some so I apologize.  If you feel slighted please comment and tell the world what your team made!
  4. Our end of semester banquet is tonight!  It has been a wonderful semester and we are excited to join together to celebrate all we have accomplished.

So, where does that leave us?  We are weeks away from submitting our petition to be reactivated as the Psi Chapter here at UW-Madison.  You may notice that there is a donate button on the front page.  We placed it there because we want to give current and alumni brothers, as well as friends and family, the opportunity to help with our initiation fees.  We do our best, as a colony, to limit the amount of money that is required for members to be a part of Delta Sigma Pi.  It is because of this that we are reaching out to all of you.  Your generosity will allow the expansion of Delta Sigma Pi and the initiation of more than 60 new Brothers into the fraternity.  Furthermore, this donation will help the goal of the colony as a whole to make a positive impact in the Wisconsin School of Business and the Madison community.  $1 or $100, anything will help in our quest to become a chapter.  The donate button accepts all major credit cards as well as PayPal accounts.

If you have any questions about the colony to chapter process, the events we have done, or anything else please do not hesitate to contact me, Scott, at scott@uwdsp.com.  Or you can also contact our President, Cody Candee, at cody@uwdsp.com.  It has been a quite the semester, but I have a feeling that if things go as planned, next semester will make history.

A Month To Remember

It has been quite a month for the Beta Epsilon Mu Colony!  I apologize for not posting here often if you were all expecting updates.  From now on we will have a fairly active blog with posts from a lot of the executive committee about what is going on with the colony.  In the meantime, here is my quick update.

I say that September was a month to remember because recruiting and the start of the year was overwhelmingly successful.  Our kickoff meeting had attendance of over 100 potential members.  Of those who came to that meeting, and those who had heard of the fraternity through word of mouth, we are excited to say that we have over 60 potential brothers for the founding class.  Our official number is still to be determined, but it is between 60-70 members.  What is even more exciting is that we don’t just have a large number of members, but the people that have decided to join us are all extremely motivated individuals who are also excited to be a part of something special.  I could not be happier with who we have chosen to represent the Beta Epsilon Mu Colony!

So far, we have done several community service events, professional events, and networking events to try to get everyone closer as a group.  We are working very hard to create a strong brotherhood that can be unmatched by any other organization here.  The colony has put on several social events from dinners after our member meetings to an upcoming networking event called DSPeedating.  I am confident in saying that Delta Sigma Pi here at UW-Madison is starting to make an impact in the Business School and around campus.  We are officially recognized as a business organization and are on pace to submit a petition to become a chapter in just a month or two.

That’s all for my update for now.  We would love to hear from you so leave any questions or comments in the section below.  Go Badgers!

A New School Year

Hi everyone,

My name is Scott.  If you have any questions or comments about the website do not hesitate to contact me at scott@uwdsp.com.  This website was created to be a resource for current and prospective members, alumni, and visitors who are curious about what Delta Sigma Pi and Beta Epsilon Mu is all about.

This blog will serve as a type of newsletter.  We will be posting here in order to give everyone a perspective on what we are doing as a colony at UW-Madison.

This week we have a lot of recruting events planned so stop by our tables at the org fairs, come to the kick-off, and ask plenty of questions.  I promise that we will show you why the colony is so passionate about Delta Sigma Pi and what it can do for the students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison!
