Robert Engel

Bob

Bob Engel is a second year student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Bob has just recently been admitted into the business school, where he is pursuing a marketing major, as well as working on a certificate in leadership.  He’s expecting to graduate in May of 2012.  Aside from his academic life, Bob enjoys playing intramural sports, jamming on the guitar, and writing poetry.

Mr. Engel is from St. Louis, Missouri.  During his years at Parkway Central High School, Bob participated in extracurricular activities such as DECA, Lead (a student organization for sports team leaders who support the school’s code of conduct), the National Honors Society, and playing football and baseball for all four years.  During his senior season, Bob was a baseball team captain, and also played linebacker in the Edward Jones Dome when his football team made the state-championship game.  He also worked as a basketball referee, camp counselor, and eighth grade basketball coach.

In college, Bob has spent over two semesters in Delta Sigma Pi.  He was just recently selected the Vice President of Professional Events, and served as the VP of Community Service last semester.  Through the community service leadership role, Mr. Engel helped set up various Delta Sigma Pi events such as volunteering at the Oakwood Village retirement homes, working with a children’s charity known as Project Grow, and coordinating two haunted house events as part of Delta Sigma Pi’s “Make a Difference Day.”  Aside from Delta Sigma Pi activities, Bob is also involved in the Sports Business Club, a Greek fraternity, and a new student organization called No Badger Left Behind, a group geared towards helping freshman during their first few weeks on campus.

As VP-Professional Events next semester, Bob is hoping to tour some local companies, set up a professional etiquette dinner, and conduct a golf event as the sport strongly relates to the business world.  After college, Bob is hoping to pursue the sports-marketing world.  His lifelong dream is to work with his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, in a promotion role.

Delta Sigma Pi has impacted Bob’s college experience in a very positive way.  He was one of the original members when the fraternity was just getting started. He has made some great friends that he cannot wait to call brothers in the near future.  Delta Sigma Pi has also allowed Bob to network with Delta Sigma Pi Alums, help use his creativity on the executive board, and have a fun time at many events.  Bob cannot wait for Beta Epsilon Mu to become a chapter!
